Complete Home Radon Test: Air and Water Covered in One Kit

Radon is a radioactive gas that seeps up from soil and rock and enters homes through foundation cracks, gaps around pipes, and other ground level openings. It has no color, smell, or taste, and once inside it can build up to levels that cause serious long term health damage. The EPA considers radon the second leading cause of lung cancer in the United States, responsible for an estimated 21,000 deaths each year.

What most people do not realize is that radon can enter your home two ways. It comes up through the ground into your air, but it can also dissolve into well water and get released during everyday activities like showering or running the dishwasher. Testing only your air without testing your water leaves half the picture untested.

What This Kit Includes

This kit covers both entry points in a single order. You get two air sampling vials and one water sample bottle. Place one vial in your lowest level, one in your most lived-in space, collect a water sample from your tap, and mail everything back in the prepaid return mailer we include. Results come back within 1 to 3 business days from the date your samples arrive at our lab.

Understanding Your Results

The EPA recommends taking action when radon levels reach 4 pCi/L or higher in air. Every test includes a free consultation with one of our in-house water quality experts who will walk you through both your air and water results and help you figure out whether any next steps are needed.

Please note that due to Pennsylvania’s state radon regulations this test is not available for use in Pennsylvania. Pennsylvania residents should contact their state radon office for approved testing options.
