Why the Double Vial Test
Most homes have different radon levels depending on where you are in the building. Radon tends to be highest in basements and lowest levels where it first enters, but the area where your family actually spends time matters just as much. This kit comes with two vials so you can test both locations at the same time: one in the lowest level of your home and one in the most occupied living area. That combination gives you a much more complete and useful picture than a single sample from one spot. For homeowners on well water, we recommend upgrading to our Radon Complete Home Test which adds a water sample to your air screening for total peace of mind.
How It Works
Order your test and we will mail you the two vial kit with easy to follow instructions. Once your sampling period is complete, mail the vials back to our in-house laboratory and results are delivered within 1 to 2 business days from the date they arrive.
Understanding Your Results
Radon is measured in picocuries per liter of air and the EPA recommends taking action when levels reach 4 pCi/L or higher. Every test includes a free consultation with one of our in-house water quality experts. Once your results are in, give us a call or send us an email and we will help you understand what was found and whether mitigation makes sense for your home.
Please note that due to Pennsylvania’s state radon regulations this test is not available for use in Pennsylvania. Pennsylvania residents should contact their state radon office for approved testing options.
