ETR Laboratories maintains ISO/IEC 17025 accreditation through the ANSI National Accreditation Board (ANAB). To maintain our accreditation, we undergo regular assessments that verify ongoing conformance with ISO/IEC 17025 requirements within our scope of accreditation.

About ISO/IEC 17025

The international standard that applies to testing and calibration laboratories is ISO/IEC 17025. ISO notes that:

ISO/IEC 17025 enables laboratories to demonstrate that they operate competently and generate valid results, thereby promoting confidence in their work both nationally and around the world.

It also helps facilitate cooperation between laboratories and other bodies by generating wider acceptance of results between countries. Test reports and certificates can be accepted from one country to another without the need for further testing, which can help support international trade.

WHY LABORATORY ACCREDITATION MATTERS

ISO/IEC 17025 sets requirements for the competence, impartiality, and consistent operation of laboratories.

Accreditation provides independent confirmation that a laboratory is operating to those requirements.

International recognition frameworks (such as mutual recognition arrangements among accreditation bodies) can support broader acceptance of results across markets.

Traceability and Technical Rigor

Our ISO/IEC 17025 accreditation requires documented, traceable processes for sample handling, equipment calibration and maintenance, method control, and recordkeeping from sample receipt through final reporting.

Assessments may include on-site evaluation of personnel competency, equipment and calibration systems, and review of controlled documentation and records.
