HOW IT WORKS

1: COLLECT A WATER SAMPLE

We'll mail you a kit that includes everything you'll need to collect a water sample and mail it back to us.

2: GET YOUR RESULTS

After we've completed the test, we'll fax or email you an in-depth technical report on your results and send a copy by mail for your records. The report includes recommendations on how to improve your water's quality and how to remove any unwanted substances.

3: FREE, EXPERT FOLLOW-UP CONSULTATION

Most water testing companies consider their job done once they've sent your results. We don't. We want to make sure you know what you can do to improve your water quality and remove any harmful contaminants. That's why we offer follow-up phone calls with our experts at no additional cost.

WHY US?

No middleman. We do all our testing ourselves. The results you receive always come directly from our in-house lab. This keeps our prices down and the quality of our testing up.
We offer free follow-up consultations. Most water testing companies can't explain the results of your test because they don't do the testing themselves. But we do. And that's why we offer free phone consultations to help you make sense of your results.
We're a trusted name in the water industry. We're a member of the national Water Quality Association and our own local Massachusetts Ground Water Association.
We're trusted by our customers. We also have an A rating on Angie's List that is based solely on customers' experiences. In fact, out of 300+ reviews, more than 86 percent of our customers have given us an A, the highest rating you can earn. To see what they have to say, head over to our Angie's List profile page and read some of the reviews for yourself.
Statement of Confidentiality:
No shared results. Our laboratory holds our clients' privacy in the highest regard. Your results and information will never be shared. Be aware that laboratories who report their laboratory certification ID number on your report may be required to report your results to various government agencies.

Basic Water Test FAQ

Why Should I Test My Water?

You may want to order a Basic Water Test to check the quality of your community’s water supply. If you have a well, you should be checking the quality of well water regularly, and retest it in the event of possible water contamination, construction around the home, damage to your well, or any other reason your water quality may have deteriorated. A test is a good idea if you notice staining of fixtures, cloudiness of water, odors or any other quality issues.

If you are applying for a VA or FHA loan on a new home, a water test is normally required for any home that is supplied by a well. Other lenders may also require a well water test. It’s also smart to test your water if there will be a new baby in your home or if there have been unexplained illnesses.

In most cases, the Basic Water Test will answer your questions about water quality. This test scans for 59 different substances, including bacteria, heavy metals, minerals and radon, as well as checking alkalinity, hardness, pH, sediment and other attributes. To get started, visit our Basic Water Test page, or contact us to get more information.

If you are testing your community water quality, you may want to test it any time you suspect there is a problem or test the water after you move to a new home or new town. Remember, it is not only the water supply itself that could be compromised; a home’s plumbing system could add other contaminants to your drinking, cooking or washing water. It’s smart to test your well water once a year, after repairs to your well are completed, or any time you suspect your water quality may have been compromised. It’s also a good idea to test well water if anyone in your household has suffered an unexplained illness.

Unless you suspect a specific problem with your water supply, a Basic Water Test is usually all that is needed to put your mind at rest. Visit our Basic Water Test page, or contact us to get more information.

Our Basic Water Test checks for:

  • Iron, copper and manganese that stain your plumbing fixtures.
  • Coliform bacteria and E. coli that can cause intestinal problems.
  • Improper pH that can cause corrosion of plumbing equipment and rapid deterioration of water treatment systems.
  • Radon, a carcinogenic gas that can be present in water supplies.
  • Manganese and iron that cause hard water.
  • Sodium, barium and strontium that can come from nearby industries.

This test scans for a total of 59 different substances or attributes of community or well water supplies that can affect taste, health, or cause deterioration of equipment in the home. Help ensure the safety of your family and your property by trusting ETR Laboratories today. Contact us or visit our Basic Water Test page to get started.
